FAQ

Will I need a passport for this trip?

If you are travelling from outside of Australia, you will be required to have a passport to enter Australia. It will need to be valid for at least six months after your date of departure from Australia. Customs will require two complete pages in your passport for processing your entrance and return. Please ensure your passport has adequate pages. We recommend that you make photocopies of your passport. Be sure to leave one copy at home with family members and carry one copy in your purse and/or luggage. In the event that your passport is lost or stolen, this will make the re-issuing of your passport much easier. We would also like for you to scan your passport and upload it to your registration record, or email a copy to the Simpro Group Event Support at support@SGexcellenceclub.com. ​

Can I extend my stay at the Reef View Hotel?

The program covers three (3) nights at the Reef View Hotel. To request additional nights and/or rooms, please email support@SGexcellenceclub.com and we will coordinate with the hotel to determine availability. Participants will be responsible for the cost of additional nights. Please do not contact the hotel directly as we are coordinating on your behalf.

 

May I bring a guest to participate on this trip?

Yes, you are welcome to bring one (1) adult guest (over the age of 21) to accompany you on this trip. Your guest is invited to participate in all functions. 

What is the program attire?

For the entire program, we recommend resort casual attire. Please make sure your attire is brand appropriate (no offensive language or imagery). 

What should I pack for Hamilton Island?

Please see the list below for what we recommend to pack for the trip.

  • Lightweight, breathable clothing

  • Swimwear

  • Casual evening outfits

  • A light sweater or jacket for evening events

  • Comfortable sandals or flip-flops, and walking shoes

  • Sunglasses

What will the weather be like?

The average temperature on Hamilton Island during the day is in the mid-70s. During the evenings and early mornings, the temperature is in the mid-60s.

What time zone will I be in?

During our time at Hamilton Island, we will be on Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). This time zone is UTC/GMT + 10 hours.

Will I need to obtain an ETA visa?

If you are not an Australian resident, you will be required to apply for an ETA visa HERE. We recommend applying for the Australian Visa via the app and guests should apply for a tourist visa as opposed to the business visa. Guests will receive an email from support@sgexcellenceclub.com with specific instructions.

Flight Upgrades & Baggage Fees 

Any and all flight upgrades and fees will be at your own expense. n the case of weather or airline strike, delays or cancellations, guests must adhere to airline rebooking policy or pay for flight change on their own. 

 

For checked and carry-on luggage, please check your airline website for specific guidelines on costs associated with checked and carry-on luggage. Following Simpro Group policy, please keep track of any receipts for checked baggage and you will be able to submit an expense report at the end of the trip to cover these items. Please reference Excellence Club 2025 on your report. ​
 

Exchange Rate

The local currency is Australian dollars (AU$). The exchange rate will fluctuate daily so you can check online to see the going rate on any given date. Exchange money only as needed. For credit card purchases, the rate is dependent upon the rate at the time the charge is processed.

Will I be responsible for incidentals at the hotel?

Yes. Upon check in, guests will be asked to put a card down to cover any incidentals at the hotel. Example incidental charges are mini bar purchases, room service, dining outlets, etc.

What type of flight class is covered for my flight?

For any flights greater than 8 hours in length, premium economy will be booked for guests. For any flights less than 8 hours, guests will be booked into economy class. If you would like to upgrade your flight class, it will be at your expense and can be coordinated with the travel agent.
